Transparency Statement

Ethical leadership transcends mere authority; it illuminates a path guided by integrity, empathy, and a profound sense of responsibility towards others.

It is important to us to be open and transparent about the work we do and how we communicate it.

Data Transparency Statement

Measuring the number of children who ultimately benefit from teacher training is complex. Teachers work with new cohorts of learners each year, and improvements in classroom practice can multiply over time. At the same time, not every teacher sustains behaviour change, and comparisons across countries and systems are rarely “like for like.”

Aprender therefore distinguishes between direct clients (teachers trained) and indirect clients (the learners they teach). When reporting reach, we take a conservative approach. Drawing on the Kirkpatrick Model of Training Evaluation, which highlights that only a proportion of training leads to sustained behaviour change, we base our estimates on cautious assumptions rather than inflated projections.

Our estimates are informed by multiple methods, including participant questionnaires, ratings, classroom evidence and independent evaluations where possible. We also gather qualitative feedback—stories from teachers who describe transformation in their classrooms.

Finally, Aprender is not only committed to transparent reporting but also to improving transfer of training into practice. We design follow-up support, peer learning and mentoring into our programmes to maximise the proportion of clients who sustain behaviour change and deliver lasting benefits to their learners.

Attribution Statement

At Aprender, we recognise that real change is never achieved by one organisation alone. The progress seen in the schools and communities we support is the result of many people working together — teachers, school leaders, local partners, governments, funders, and other organisations committed to education improvement. Our role is to equip and empower these changemakers through training, coaching, and collaboration. We are proud to be part of the wider story of change, but we know that transformation happens when everyone plays their part.

Use of images Statement

When creating posts about the challenges facing education, teachers and school leaders around the world we are not comfortable with posting images of real staff, connecting them with a negative truth as we spell out those challenges. With the latest developments in technology, we now use AI created images to transmit these kinds of messages. Where we have not been able to find a suitable photo for communicating a message, we may form time to time use AI generated images. Wherever possible, we use images from our own projects we serve around the world. We do ask about taking photos wherever we go and secure permission before taking any.

Use of AI Statement

At Aprender, we use artificial intelligence as a tool to enhance — not replace — human expertise. AI helps us analyse data more efficiently, identify trends, and improve the way we design and deliver training. We use it to help summarise documents, structure reports, suggest hashtags for our social media posts, and with image creation. However, every decision, insight, and action is guided by the experience and judgment of our team and partners on the ground. Technology supports our mission; it doesn’t define it. Our focus remains on people — empowering educators to create lasting, human-centred change.
