How to Apply
Continue your leadership. Multiply your impact.

After years of leading schools, your experience is too valuable to retire.

The Apto Fellowship gives experienced headteachers, deputy heads, executive leaders and education professionals the opportunity to continue changing lives by coaching education leaders around the world.

Rather than working directly with children, our Fellows support government education officers and school leaders, helping them strengthen teaching, leadership and school improvement within their own education systems. Together, we are building a global community of educational leaders committed to creating lasting change.

Our application process

Step 1 – Register your interest

Complete our short online Expression of Interest form and tell us a little about your background and what has drawn you to the Fellowship.

Step 2 – Exploratory conversation

We'll arrange a relaxed online conversation lasting around 45–60 minutes. This isn't an interview. It's an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to decide whether the Fellowship feels like the right fit.

Step 3 – Mutual decision

If we both feel the Fellowship is right for you, we'll invite you to begin the Associate Fellow induction process.

Step 4 – Safeguarding and onboarding

Before induction begins, you'll complete our safeguarding requirements, including an Enhanced DBS check (or international equivalent), two professional references, safeguarding training and signing the Apto Code of Practice.

Step 5 – Begin your Associate Fellowship

You'll join your cohort of Associate Fellows, receive your induction, meet your supervision group and begin your journey towards becoming an Apto Fellow.
