Independent External Validation
Cambridge Judge Business School Global Consulting Project Report. April 2026
Independent validation by MBA students from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School has reinforced confidence in Aprender's approach to improving education at scale.
Following extensive field research in Uganda, including classroom observations, interviews with teachers, school leaders and education officers, and analysis of Aprender's programmes, the Cambridge MBA Global Consulting Project concluded that Apto addresses a genuine need within education systems. The team highlighted the strength of Aprender's coaching-led methodology, its commitment to building local ownership rather than dependency, and the significant potential to scale through partnerships while maintaining quality.
They also recognised the value of AptoBox in overcoming low-connectivity barriers and affirmed that Aprender's focus on leadership, coaching and systems strengthening provides a practical and sustainable pathway to lasting educational improvement.
Most importantly, the project provided independent validation that Aprender's model is both relevant and scalable, strengthening our evidence base as we work towards reaching 500,000 educators and improving educational opportunities for 10 million children.

Course Evaluations
Across our Apto programmes, participants consistently report that the experience has transformed both their confidence and their professional practice. Educators value the practical, immediately applicable nature of the training, enabling them to make meaningful changes in classrooms and schools from day one.
They describe improvements in lesson quality, classroom culture, coaching conversations, team collaboration and school leadership, while gaining greater clarity about how to lead sustainable improvement. Many also speak of a renewed sense of purpose and belief in their ability to influence the lives of children.
Participants frequently tell us that the collaborative nature of the programmes has inspired them to reflect more deeply on their own practice and to support the professional growth of those around them. Many continue to apply the principles and tools long after the training has ended, creating a ripple effect that strengthens teams, improves schools and ultimately enhances learning outcomes for children.
Above all, participants leave Apto equipped not only with new knowledge, but with the confidence, practical tools and ongoing support to translate that learning into lasting change for colleagues, pupils and their wider school community.
Impact Reports
Across our international partnerships, Apto is delivering measurable improvements in teaching, leadership and school culture.
Our latest impact evaluation shows consistently outstanding feedback, with partners rating the quality of their relationship with Aprender at 4.9/5, their likelihood of recommending us at 4.8/5, and our support in helping them achieve their vision at 4.7/5.
The quality of our training received an average score of 4.4/5, with participants reporting significant improvements in leadership practice (4.3/5) and teaching quality (4.0/5). Beyond the scores, partners describe teachers embracing active learning, stronger school leadership, improved teacher engagement and, in one school, student attainment rising from below 50% to over 80%.
Together, these outcomes demonstrate that Apto doesn't simply deliver training—it builds the confidence, capability and sustainable systems that enable educators to transform the lives of children.
Why Impact Matters — And Why It Is Hard to Measure
Impact is the only thing that justifies the work. Every teacher trained, every coach deployed, every classroom changed has to translate, in the end, into children whose lives are different because of it, and we owe it to our donors, our partners, and the children themselves to know whether that is happening.
Aprender takes measurement seriously: pre- and post-training data, structured beneficiary interviews, fidelity scoring, and follow-up all sit at the centre of our monitoring, evaluation and learning framework.
But honest measurement also means being honest about its limits.
Behaviour change in classrooms is slow and non-linear. The most important outcomes — a child who stays in school, a teacher who becomes the steady adult presence a vulnerable child needs, a school culture that quietly shifts over years, are exactly the outcomes hardest to capture in a spreadsheet.
Connectivity, data infrastructure, and the realities of working across approximately twelve countries each add their own constraints. Our commitment is therefore twofold: to measure what we can, rigorously and transparently; and to be candid about what we cannot yet measure, the proxies we use in the meantime, and the work we are doing to close those gaps. Impact reporting that pretends to certainty it does not have is not, in the end, impact reporting at all.
