Where we work
Together
Aprender's work in every country is delivered through partnerships. We do not run our own schools. We work alongside government Ministries of Education, District Education Offices, and partner NGOs. From Year One of our Strategic Plan, in-country Apto Coaches, typically government education officers, are at the heart of every country programme. The Apto Fellowship trains and supports them.
Latin America
Aprender's roots lie in Latin America, where our founder's early work developing school leaders shaped the coaching methodology that now underpins the Apto cascade. Today we continue to develop partnerships across the region, including in Brazil, applying the same coaching-led approach to strengthen school leadership in communities where educational opportunity remains deeply unequal.
Africa & The Middle East
Africa is the largest theatre of Aprender's work. We deliver Apto programmes across Sierra Leone and East Africa, partnering with government education ministries and locally-led organisations including Kids Alive International Zambia. In the Middle East, our work in Lebanon extends the Apto methodology to teachers serving refugee and host communities — building professional capacity in one of the region's most complex educational contexts.
Asia
Across Asia, Aprender is building partnerships that reach children in some of the world's most under-resourced and geographically isolated communities. In Nepal, we work with school leaders in remote districts where access and connectivity present daily challenges. In Pakistan, our developing partnership with the GRACE Association will deliver coaching intensives in Gilgit-Baltistan, extending high-quality professional development to teachers serving cross-border and remote populations often overlooked by international programmes.
